The gospel is the good news about Jesus Christ. God is our sovereign Creator, yet we humans have sinned against him, choosing our own way instead of submitting to his authority. Because God is good and must punish sin, his just wrath is against us.
However, in his love, God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to become man. Jesus lived a perfect life, fulfilled God’s law, and took on the wrath of God by dying on the cross in the place of sinners who would repent and trust in him alone for salvation.
On the third day, Jesus rose again, proving that his sacrifice was accepted by God. Jesus now invites everyone to repent and trust him for the forgiveness of sins.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”John 3:16
